What is an Item Category in SAP SD?

An Item Category controls how each item in a sales document is processed. It determines whether the item is relevant for delivery, billing, pricing, and inventory management. Common Item Categories: • TAN – Standard Item • TANN – Free Goods Item • TAP – Third-Party Item • TAS – Individual Purchase Order Item
