About the Role Ampstek is hiring an experienced SAP MDG Technical Consultant to support enterprise SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives for a leading manufacturing client in Texas City, TX. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), SAP ABAP, and Material Master Data management who are passionate about delivering high-quality master data solutions. As an SAP MDG Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing SAP MDG solutions to improve master data quality, governance, and business process efficiency. You will collaborate with functional consultants, business users, data governance teams, and technical architects to implement scalable solutions across Material Master, Bill of Materials (BOM), Routing, Work Centers, and Production Versions. The successful candidate will participate throughout the complete project lifecycle, including solution design, technical development, testing, deployment, integration, and post-production support while ensuring compliance with SAP development standards and enterprise data governance policies. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and develop SAP MDG solutions in SAP S/4HANA multi-tier landscapes. Develop and enhance SAP MDG workflows, business rules, validations, and custom applications. Configure and support Material Master, Bill of Materials (BOM), Routing, Work Centers, Production Versions, and Classification data. Build ABAP developments including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW). Develop and support ALE/IDOC interfaces for master data distribution across SAP and third-party systems. Create technical objects, enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, and custom developments based on business requirements. Collaborate with functional teams to define master data governance processes and improve data quality. Support data migration, integration testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), cutover, and production deployment activities. Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize SAP MDG applications for performance and scalability. Prepare technical specifications, development documentation, testing documents, and knowledge transfer materials. Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, coding standards, and enterprise governance policies throughout project delivery. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5–8 years of overall SAP experience with 3–5 years of hands-on SAP MDG implementation experience. Strong expertise in SAP MDG Technical development and SAP ABAP. Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA environments. Strong understanding of Material Master, BOM, Routing, Work Centers, Production Versions, and Classification processes. Experience with SAP ALE, IDOCs, SQL, SAP Queries, and enterprise data governance. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
