Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP MDG Architect with deep SAP S/4HANA expertise to lead the assessment, optimization, and enhancement of an enterprise Master Data Governance environment. This role will focus on evaluating an existing MDG implementation, identifying architectural deficiencies, improving governance processes, and delivering scalable solutions that support business growth, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. The organization recently completed its SAP S/4HANA transformation and is looking for a senior MDG expert who can provide strategic leadership, architectural guidance, and hands-on recommendations to maximize the value of its investment. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience designing and optimizing SAP MDG solutions in complex, high-volume environments where data quality, governance, and process efficiency are critical. Key Responsibilities Perform a comprehensive assessment of the current SAP MDG architecture within an SAP S/4HANA environment, identifying design gaps, technical limitations, and process inefficiencies. Evaluate existing master data governance processes supporting Customer, Vendor, and Material Master data. Lead the redesign and optimization of approval workflows to reduce unnecessary approval layers, minimize record lock durations, and improve overall business agility. Analyze and resolve challenges related to change requests, record snapshots, data overwrites, and master data synchronization across business functions. Assess current mass maintenance capabilities and recommend scalable approaches for high-volume master data updates and governance activities. Develop and implement governance standards, business rules, and stewardship processes to improve data quality, consistency, and compliance. Partner with business and IT leadership to align master data strategy with broader SAP S/4HANA objectives and analytics initiatives. Provide architectural leadership to the existing MDG team, establishing best practices and long-term governance frameworks. Recommend and implement enhancements that improve user experience, scalability, maintainability, and operational effectiveness. Support ongoing S/4HANA optimization efforts by ensuring master data processes are aligned with enterprise business requirements.
