SAP ABAP Technical Consultant (S/4HANA & SAP BTP)

About the Role GState Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Technical Consultant to support large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives for a leading enterprise client based in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a long-term onsite opportunity for senior SAP professionals with strong expertise in modern ABAP development and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). As an SAP ABAP Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-grade SAP applications using the latest SAP technologies, including RAP, CDS Views, OData Services, SAP Fiori, SAP Build, CAP Model, and AI-powered capabilities such as SAP Joule. You will work closely with functional consultants, solution architects, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver scalable and high-performance SAP solutions. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in SAP ABAP development within S/4HANA environments, demonstrate strong technical leadership, and be capable of driving end-to-end development activities throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and enhance SAP ABAP applications in SAP S/4HANA environments. Build RESTful applications using RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model). Develop and optimize CDS Views, AMDP procedures, and HANA-optimized database objects. Design and develop SAP Fiori applications and OData services using SAP Gateway. Build cloud-native applications using SAP CAP Model and SAP Build solutions on SAP BTP. Integrate SAP applications with third-party systems using APIs, web services, and SAP Integration Suite. Optimize existing ABAP programs for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Perform code reviews, debugging, technical troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Prepare technical specifications, design documents, deployment guides, and knowledge transfer documentation. Support SIT, UAT, production deployment, hypercare, and ongoing application maintenance. Explore SAP AI capabilities, including SAP Joule and intelligent automation, to improve enterprise business processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. 10–15 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience. Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration projects. Strong expertise in RAP, CDS Views, OData, SAP Fiori, SAP Build, and CAP Model. Experience with SAP BTP development and cloud application architecture. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently in enterprise consulting environments.
