Interview Question

What is a Company Code in SAP FICO?

Answer

A Company Code is the smallest organizational unit in SAP FI for which complete financial statements can be generated. It represents a separate legal entity and maintains its own accounting records, balance sheet, and profit & loss statement.

Real-Time Example

A multinational company operates in multiple countries. Company Code IN01 = India Operations Company Code US01 = USA Operations When a customer invoice is created in India, it is posted under Company Code IN01. When a vendor payment is made in the USA, it is posted under Company Code US01. This helps the company maintain separate financial records and generate country-specific financial reports.
